Just Be

I float away, arms stretched out
Don’t want a single soul to find me here
I am lost.. Not to be found
Until I find myself

My eyes closed, I remember days
Searching tirelessly for something whole
Only to find .. Small fragments
Of what could have been

If one sweet dream, so perfect in its birth
Having survived so many horrid things
Can finally be trampled, broken
Tossed by its own keeper

Then what of hope, the fabric of tomorrow
And forgiveness, love and inner peace
Are they fragmented also?
Never to be fully fledged?

It doesn’t end, a jigsaw of perfection
With parts that fall into the wind
They blow into the deep blue sea
And float right next to me

I touch them now, tenderly these fragments
Seem to know me through and through
Saying softly.. ‘ cherish you before you cherish me..
Just be ‘
