In the shadows cast.. Poem

Tiny flitter flutter wings
Where up above an angel sings
Tears they trickle for my soul
For how I struggled to feel whole
And down here gathered in the dust
We tried to satisfy the lust
In darkness, in the shadows cast
It couldn’t last

All we did was make a mess
We thrashed about, no more, no less
Unbeknown, the worth of me
Was more than you could ever see
That’s not your problem anyway
I was a toy, you had a play
In hindsight, I was rendered blind
And would rewind

Alone I sit and ponder now
And wish I could just take a bow
Check out from this great big charade
Because I find it all too hard
Right from the start I wasn’t strong
Although I tried so to belong
In daylight, in the dark of night
It was a fight..
